A Poker Bot with Artificial Intelligence Features
Poker is by far one of the most interesting as well as most played games in the United States and in many countries world-wide. There are numerous games in poker including the most popular games; Blackjack, Texas Hold’em, and Five Card.
Poker has come a long way in the past ten years. From video poker at on-site casinos to play at home internet poker, the game has made many new and useful innovations to poker players around the globe.
One of the most recent and most innovative is a new online poker tool known simply as the Artificial Intelligence Poker Robot; or, commonly abbreviated to a Poker Bot.
These Poker Bots have many features than make online casino and poker play easier and, potentially non-stop. Basically, a Poker Bot is a program or type of software that is calibrated with an online poker site to make decisions about current poker games of the player’s choice and plays hands of poker, acting as the player would if the player was actually playing. It folds, bets, raises, and does every command of poker that the player would normally make based on the specific commands that the player programs it to make. Effectively, it allows players to play a game of poker without even having to be present at the poker game.
Of course, the use of these bots all has their own separate advantages and disadvantages.
The disadvantages are simply that, though the player is able to tell the bot what to do, in certain situations, a player may find him or herself wanting to fold. The bot does not recognize these emotions. If a player is running low on money or credit, the bot will still act the same, not more conservatively or more frugally, no matter what the situation calls for. This is a big disadvantage because the player cannot always monitor the bot, or purchasing the bot would be useless.
The bot always makes the exact gambits and plays and bets that the player tells it to make, making controlling it a tedious and intricate process.
Another disadvantage is the loss of the game, in a sense. Poker is a game of man to man (or woman to woman) competition where wits, will, and daring are pitted against one another. Putting a robot in charge of the game takes this away.
Sure, it has the potential to make more money because of its consistency, but it eliminates the human aspect of the game and takes the game solely down to numbers and statistics. If a robot was created that was able to execute the moves of a football player, the game would also lose its human aspect. Robots competing against each other destroys the meaning and fun of the game. Just because poker bots are available does not mean that they are necessarily the best thing for a lover of poker, or any poker player for that matter.
Though there are these cons to Poker Bots, they do have their merits as well. As previously stated, they establish a means of consistency otherwise unattainable by most novice poker players. This makes the game easier to predict. This means of consistency allows the player to see how their techniques and methods work when executed with perfect consistency.
Though the Artificial Intelligence Poker Robots present an interesting new spin to the popular game of poker that does not make then the best tool for a poker player; it all depends on the personal preference of the poker player using or not using the bots.
